Slow play hurts us all. Keep things moving and we'll all enjoy the
weekend.
If you follow the hit when ready philosophy we'll all benefit.
Exception: If the cart girl is hot
...no one will be penalized for having trouble deciding what to drink.
The most common rules broken at Springfest
include:
•
Winter rules, tipping the ball is okay. Moving
it around is not.
•
Clubs, 14 clubs max in the bag. You can use
less.
•
A LATERAL drop is taken from where the ball
entered the hazard and dropped within two club lengths from that point.
•
If your ball lies in a hazard (sand traps
excluded) you may not touch the ball. Anywhere else on the course you can
pick clean and replace.
The Granny's Crotch 2-Man Shamble Rules
•
Both players play from the same tee.
•
6 holes are played from the blue tees and
6 holes are played from the white tees and 6
holes are played from the red tees. The team chooses the colour of the
tee block used at each hole. |
•
Any player that is on the over 70 or on the
medical exemption plays all the holes from the red tees
in this event. |
•
Each player must contribute a minimum of 5
drives. |
•
Once the drive is picked both players complete
the hole from that spot with their own ball. |
•
It is a net best ball so record the best net
score. |
•
Each player is allowed two do-overs. One can be taken
through the green and one can be used on the green only. |
•
They do not have to do the do over together. |
•
Once the ball is in the hole, your hole is
over so do not tap in if you have other players still to play.
•
Ties for first will be played as a playoff on
Friday morning starting on hole #2. White tees will be used with no do-overs.
The low net best ball on the hole will win and will continue until there
is a winner. No minimum number of drives will be required.
Ties for third and further down will be broken by retrogression
starting at number 18. |
The Scramble Rules
•
The "A" player is the captain and
plays from the blue tees.
•
The B,C,D, and E players play from the white
tees. |
•
If any player has approval from the committee
to play from the red tees, they may play all the holes from the red tees
in this event. |
•
We are playing a modified step-aside format.
There is no requirement on the number of drives per player.
All five players hit tee shots and putt. |
•
On the 5th hole (The Shortest Drive Hole), all
five players must tee off (The Tetley Rule). The drive farthest from the
hole is considered the shortest.
•
On shots not on the green, the player whose
shot was used must step-aside. He may hit first to give the team an idea
of what club to use, show them a chip, etc. but his shot cannot count.
The player whose shot is chosen on the green does not step-aside and
will putt. |
•
Once the ball is in the hole, your hole is
over so do not tap in if you have other players still to play.
•
Ties will be broken by a 100 yard closest to
the pin team shoot-off.
Ties for second through fourth will be broken by retrogression.
The Tournament Rules
•
"A" players tee off from the blue
tees. All other players use the white.
•
If any player has approval from the committee
to play from the red tees, they may play all the holes from the red tees
in this event. |
•
Winter rules apply including sand bunkers,
however not in other hazards or trees.
•
On holes 1 thru 9, if the area is not white
staked (Out of Bounds), it is a lateral hazard. All out of bounds must be
played as such and the player reloads.
•
On hole 10 thru 18 everything is a lateral
including the houses on hole #10. A ball may be dropped within two
club lengths of the point of entry. Count one penalty stroke.
•
Once you score double par (i.e. 6 on a par 3),
you must pick up and record that score.
•
Balls must be putted in. No Gimmes
•
The marshals on the course will govern slow
play. Their decisions and rulings are final
The Shoot-Out Rules
This is an individual event.
You may not ask for any help from anyone who is in or out of the
competition. An infraction is rule will result in a warning and any
subsequent infraction will result in disqualification. Everyone is entered
and expected to play.
•
Each player must mark his ball so that it can
be identified.
•
Winter rules are in effect. The ball can be
tipped but not moved around unless OK'd by the Commish. The ball may not
be touched if you are in a hazard or trees.
•
Players tee off on the first hole,
alphabetically A-Z. This reverses on the second hole Z-A etc. until the
competition is over.
•
You keep track of your cart partners score
until you are both eliminated.
•
Out of Bounds the player must reload. On
lateral hazards the ball is played from point of entry.
•
Furthest player is away and there are no
Gimmes.
•
Ties are broken by a chip off.
•
Chips are made from the designated area. The
player mat chip from one club length of this point, no closer to the hole.
•
A coin toss will determine the chipping order.
Winners choice. If there are more than two players involved the order will
be determined by a card draw.
•
The player may not watch his opponent chip. He
does however get to see what he has to beat.
•
Any ball on the green beats any ball off the
green. If both balls are off the green, then these apparently shitty
chippers re-chip.
•
If any part of the ball is covering the green
the ball is deemed on the green.
•
The fringe is not part of the green
•
The commissioner will measure the chips and
determine who is in and who is out.
•
If both players chip in ... no one is
eliminated and they both proceed to the next hole.
Just be Ready
Our rules are structured so that we don't
spend a lot of time looking for balls, or hacking our way to a smooth 13.
There is no need to run, just be ready when it is your turn to play.
